When my good friend suggested a trip over to Doveridge, I had to think about why on earth we would want to go there. I know the village vaguely, its sort of that place that you see in a blur as you drive through it on the way to Ashbourne. If I thought any deeper […]
The week before last I finished off a painting, that was a follow on painting to one I did a couple of years ago in pastel based on a flat grey day photo I took many years beforehand on a walk by Ladybower reservoir in Derbyshire. The pastel one has an immense attraction for me and I’m […]
When I was asked this year if I would like to participate again, I hesitated before replying. Weighing all the options up. And decided that because I had done it a year ago, and enjoyed it, I would do it again. After all, its for the good of the community. There is no payment. But […]

The client contacted me a few weeks ago wanting a painting done, he wasn’t fully sure what medium though, or whether he should be wearing a red Venetian feathered mask, or […]
I’m always happy to spend my time with interesting people, and this week has been one of those times. The interesting person was male, and seated on a leather settee, and was naked except for a beautiful Venetian feathered mask. The leather settee was bright, post box red. The feathered mask was also red, with […]
